Stormcraft Studios is the Durban team behind Immortal Romance II, Avalon III, Fortunium and the modern Agent Jane Blonde and Break Away games. Founder Terence Igesund helped shape several famous Microgaming-era releases before establishing Stormcraft in 2016. The studio now works exclusively with Games Global, but its best games still feel personal: recurring characters, original music and carefully continued worlds matter as much as jackpots or headline maximum wins. Our verdict: 8.6/10.
Where to play Stormcraft Studios games
Stormcraft Studios at a glance
Stormcraft is best understood as a specialist sequel and franchise studio rather than a high-volume supplier. It has been entrusted with characters and worlds that existed before the Stormcraft name, including Immortal Romance, Thunderstruck, Avalon, Jungle Jim, Agent Jane Blonde and Break Away. The skill is not simply reviving an old logo. Its better games preserve the tone that fans remember while moving the mechanics towards current formats such as collections, jackpots, rolling reels and feature combinations.

The directory covers 18 slots, but Stormcraft’s wider library also includes Thunderstruck, Jungle Jim and other franchise releases. Older games are often filed under Microgaming or Games Global because the brand existed before Stormcraft became a named studio. For fans, the developer, distributor and franchise owner are related but not interchangeable.
Can you play Stormcraft Studios slots in the UK?
Yes, selected Stormcraft games have a verifiable route into the regulated British market. Stormcraft supplies its games exclusively through Games Global. The Gambling Commission’s live register lists Games Global Operations Limited under account 58841, with active remote Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino) permissions dating from 15 February 2022. That is the relevant supply and hosting chain, rather than a direct licence in the Stormcraft trading name.
Mermaids Millions Cashingo is currently listed for British customers at Mecca Bingo, with a 20p minimum stake, 40 paylines and a 94% RTP configuration. That confirms a current British route for the game, although it does not mean every Stormcraft release is available at every Games Global casino.
Players should still check the exact operator and game version. Games Global supplies a large network of studios, and a casino’s relationship with the platform does not guarantee that every Stormcraft game is live. Older releases can be retired, sequels can launch in stages and optional RTP configurations can differ. Open the game information screen before staking money and follow the Gambling Commission link in the casino footer to verify the operator account.
British rules can also change the feature set. Bonus-buy controls described on the international Stormcraft site may be absent from UK versions. Autoplay and turbo-style controls can also differ. A free demonstration or overseas screenshot is useful for learning the theme, but the loaded British paytable is the authority for RTP, staking limits and enabled features.
The 10 essential Stormcraft Studios games
These ten games trace Stormcraft from its early mystery-symbol releases through the Break Away and Agent Jane Blonde revivals to the current Immortal Romance and Avalon period. Each entry begins with the complete branded thumbnail and ends with a separate screenshot of the real reels or playing interface.
1. Fortunium
Fortunium is the natural starting point for Stormcraft. Released in June 2018, it uses a tall 5×5 grid, 40 paylines, medium volatility and a published RTP of 96.47%. The mystery symbols are the heart of the game: several positions can turn into the same character or paying symbol, while Victoria and Maximillian appear as imposing five-high stacks.
The optional Win Booster raises the stake by 50%, removes lower-paying results from the mystery pool and makes a mystery transformation more likely. Three scatters award ten free spins, with up to three Mystery Reels made entirely from mystery symbols. Fortunium feels carefully built for portrait play rather than squeezed into it, and its golden steampunk city still gives the studio one of its most distinctive visual identities.
2. Agent Jane Blonde Returns
Agent Jane Blonde Returns brought Stormcraft’s secret agent back in March 2019. The five-reel game has 15 paylines, low volatility and a published RTP of 96.45%. Two or more scatter symbols lock in place as wilds and start a respin, while every new wild resets the respin counter. It is a simple idea that creates tension without moving into a separate bonus screen.
The neon spy setting, disguises and chunky controls make the game instantly recognisable, but its real strength is restraint. There are no overlapping jackpot meters or complicated collection tracks to learn. Returns is the easiest Stormcraft game to recommend to somebody who likes the characters but prefers a calmer, more direct slot.
3. Dragon Shard
Dragon Shard is a 5×5 fantasy slot with 40 paylines, medium volatility and a published RTP of 96.77%. Stacked hero symbols and mystery transformations give the screen plenty of movement without abandoning the fixed-line structure. The Win Booster can make wins pay in both directions and changes the cost of the spin.
Three or more scatters open the free-spin round, where Mystery Reels can be unlocked permanently for the rest of the feature. That permanence is what separates Dragon Shard from a brief base-game transformation. Each unlocked reel changes the shape of every spin that follows, giving the bonus a sense of progress while the game retains its elegant fantasy artwork.
4. Break Away Deluxe
Break Away Deluxe rebuilt the ice-hockey series around a 5×5 mobile layout. Players can choose 18, 38, 68 or 88 paylines, with the 88-line setting carrying the highest published RTP of 96.88%. The game is high volatility, so the selectable line count changes both the total stake and the rhythm of play.
Rolling Reels remove winning symbols and drop new ones into the gaps. A Smashing Wild guarantees a win and creates a permanent wild reel, while 12 free spins add multiplier trails and growing wilds. Deluxe is the cleaner Break Away game: it keeps the sport, the crashing ice and the escalating bonus without surrounding them with several jackpot systems.
5. Break Away Lucky Wilds
Break Away Lucky Wilds takes the same 5×5 ice-hockey setting into much more volatile territory. It uses 88 paylines and publishes a 96.89% RTP. Wild collection can award three instant jackpots, with the top prize listed at 3,850x, while Rolling Reels and the Smashing Wild return from Deluxe.
The main choice comes before free spins. Three modes let the player select a medium, high or very high risk profile, and the multiplier trail can reach 28x. Lucky Wilds is busier and less immediate than Deluxe, but it is the better fit for players who enjoy choosing the balance between bonus frequency and potential.
6. Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume
Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume moves the spy to a 5×3 screen with 243 ways. Rolling Reels create consecutive wins, stacked wilds can cover large sections of the grid and five or more scatters can award one of three fixed jackpots. The published RTP is 96.00% and the volatility is medium.
Three free-spin choices change the number of spins and the multiplier potential, with the Rolling Reels trail able to climb as high as 100x. That makes Max Volume a genuine sequel rather than a graphical refresh. Returns is a restrained sticky-wild respin game; Max Volume is louder, faster and built around cascades, jackpots and player choice.
7. Immortal Romance II
Immortal Romance II arrived in May 2024, more than a decade after the original became one of Microgaming’s defining character slots. Stormcraft kept Sarah, Amber, Troy and Michael but rebuilt the game around Rolling Reels, four character bonuses and a separate jackpot journey. It has five reels, three rows, 243 ways, high volatility, a published 96.30% RTP and a maximum win of 15,000x.
Each character has a distinct free-spin mode, while gem collection grows four character jackpots. Wild Desire expands the grid to 1,024 ways and can reach the headline maximum. The Bloodline system unlocks story material, music and cosmetic rewards over time. It is not as simple as the original, but it respects the reason people still care about that game: the cast and soundtrack matter as much as the mathematics.
8. Avalon III
Avalon III returned to Stormcraft’s Arthurian world in May 2025. It uses five reels, four rows and 20 fixed paylines. Magic Orbs can hold instant values, multipliers or jackpot access, while the orb counter can rise as high as 50 before a bonus places the matching number of prizes across the reels.
Eight free spins can be extended by three when another Free Spins Orb lands. Stormcraft publishes high volatility, a top RTP of 96.30% and a maximum win of 5,000x, although lower-return versions also exist. The loaded paytable is therefore important. Fans of Avalon II should expect a different structure, but Merlin, Arthur and the lavish fantasy presentation keep the family connection clear.
9. Immortal Romance Vein of Gold
Immortal Romance Vein of Gold places the four-character world on a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways. Blood-drop cash symbols work with collect symbols on the outside reels. A collect that does not complete the event can lock those reels and respin the middle, while tokens gathered in the base game improve the Rising Rewards jackpot values and bonus multiplier.
Free spins add 2x, 3x or 5x wild multipliers, while the alternative Vein of Gold mode guarantees cash-collection spins and can show a 100x cash symbol. Stormcraft publishes very high volatility, a top RTP of 96.25% and a 5,500x maximum, with lower RTP builds also available. The red-and-gold presentation carries the familiar cast into a modern collect-and-respin format without losing the series identity.
10. Immortal Romance Sarah’s Secret
Sarah’s Secret Power Combo turns one Immortal Romance character into the centre of a 5×3, 20-line game. The Link and Win feature begins with three respins and locks cash symbols in place. Five modifiers can join the feature: Magnify, Surge, Barrage, Supernova and Twin Flames. Their possible combinations give the Power Combo label a proper mechanical purpose.
Where available, Wild Desire costs 100x the bet and switches to a one-spin, 1,024-way layout, with as many as five reels becoming wild. Stormcraft publishes high volatility, a 96.50% RTP and a 5,000x maximum. The most compelling details for long-term fans are Sarah’s greater role and the new character music, which give the spin-off more personality than a routine hold-and-respin release.
Stormcraft game families worth knowing
Immortal Romance
The original Immortal Romance was released under Microgaming in 2011, before Stormcraft existed as a named studio. Its four characters, branching free spins and soundtrack created an unusually loyal following. Immortal Romance II continues all four storylines, Vein of Gold adds cash collection, King Millions introduces a jackpot format and Sarah’s Secret begins a more focused character series. Play the original first if possible, because much of the pleasure in the sequels comes from recognising Sarah, Amber, Troy and Michael.
Thunderstruck
Thunderstruck is another legacy line connected to the creative team long before the Stormcraft name. The modern range includes Thunderstruck Wild Lightning, Thunderstruck Stormchaser and Thunderstruck Gold Blitz Extreme, as well as the cross-format Thunderstruck FlyX collaboration. These games sit outside the 18-title directory below, but they remain an important part of the studio’s current identity.
Avalon
Avalon III follows Microgaming’s Avalon and Avalon II, moving the Arthurian world towards orb collection and fixed jackpots. The third game is easier to understand on its own than Immortal Romance II because its story continuity is lighter. Merlin, Arthur and the lavish fantasy setting provide the link, while fans of the older 243-way second game should expect a different 20-line structure.
Agent Jane Blonde
Agent Jane Blonde began in 2005. Returns revives the spy through a low-volatility sticky-wild respin, while Max Volume uses ways, cascades, jackpots and selectable free spins. Agent Jane Blonde Mega Moolah is also listed as an upcoming title, extending the character into one of Games Global’s best-known jackpot families.
Break Away
Break Away Deluxe and Lucky Wilds retain ice hockey, rolling wins and prominent wild events but aim at different players. Deluxe is the more direct cascade and growing-wild game. Lucky Wilds adds jackpot collection and three risk-tiered bonuses. Both understand that the appeal of Break Away lies in movement, impact and the feeling of a match gathering momentum.
Jungle Jim
Jungle Jim and the Golden Mummy, Jungle Jim Gold Blitz and Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx form Stormcraft’s pulpy adventure line. Gold Blitz uses a modern six-reel, high-volatility format with a published 96% RTP and a 5,000x maximum. The series is closer to old serial cinema than a conventional Egyptian slot, which gives it more personality than the titles suggest.
Stormcraft’s signature mechanics
Rolling Reels
Stormcraft uses rolling or cascading reels in Break Away, Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume and Immortal Romance II. Winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into the spaces, allowing several results from one paid spin. What changes is the reward for keeping the sequence alive. Break Away builds multiplier trails and permanent wilds, Max Volume raises its own trail, and Immortal Romance II combines rolling wins with character progression.
Mystery transformations
Fortunium and Dragon Shard use mystery symbols to turn several positions into the same paying symbol. The device suits the studio’s large character art because a transformation can reveal a screen of recognisable heroes rather than anonymous gems. Dragon Shard strengthens it by permanently unlocking mystery reels during free spins.
Persistent collections
Several newer games place a long-term counter above or beside the reels. Avalon III stores Magic Orbs, Immortal Romance II collects gems towards character jackpots, and Vein of Gold grows jackpot values and a bonus multiplier. These systems keep otherwise losing spins visually active, but an animation or counter movement is not itself a cash return.
Choice before the bonus
Stormcraft often lets the player select a free-spin style. Break Away Lucky Wilds divides its choices by volatility. Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume changes the balance between spins and multiplier potential. Immortal Romance II separates the four characters. Choice improves variety, but it does not create a superior expected return unless the paytable explicitly says so.
Win Boosters and feature purchases
Fortunium and Dragon Shard use paid boosters to change symbol or win behaviour. Recent games such as Avalon III and Sarah’s Secret describe direct bonus purchases. The cost, availability and RTP impact can differ by jurisdiction. UK versions may remove these controls entirely, so the international game page does not guarantee that a British lobby contains the same button.
Jackpots inside non-progressive games
Stormcraft frequently uses named Mini, Minor, Major or Mega prizes. Some are fixed stake multiples, some rise within a session and others link to an external jackpot system such as Mega Moolah or King Millions. All 18 entries below are non-progressive, but that label does not explain every fixed, session-based or networked jackpot edition.
Why story and music matter to Stormcraft fans
Stormcraft’s strongest distinction is not a reel mechanic. It is the willingness to treat a slot as a small entertainment production with recurring characters, original music and a recognisable dramatic tone. Terence Igesund’s career includes work on Thunderstruck, Immortal Romance, Mega Moolah, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park. That background helps explain why the studio talks about casting, soundtracks and worlds rather than only RTP and maximum wins.
Immortal Romance is the clearest example. Players remember the four characters and the music tied to their free-spin modes. Immortal Romance II added the Bloodline progression system partly to reward continued engagement with story and cosmetics. Vein of Gold was accompanied by an original album built around the characters, and Sarah’s Secret includes another character song. Stormcraft has said that fan requests for the old music influenced the decision to release new tracks outside the games.
The studio’s soundtrack article describes music being developed alongside visuals rather than added after the reels were complete. That is a useful lens for judging the games. A Stormcraft release can be mechanically conventional yet still feel authored because the score, character art and feature presentation belong to the same world. Fans who mute every slot will miss more here than they would with a purely abstract fruit game.
There is also a risk to franchise building. Each new jackpot or cash-collect edition can dilute what made the original special. Vein of Gold and Sarah’s Secret work best when their character presentation carries the familiar mechanics. The ideal Stormcraft sequel is not the one with the longest feature list, but the one where story, sound and maths reinforce one another.
Stormcraft RTP, volatility and maximum wins
Stormcraft publishes useful figures for many of its games. Fortunium is 96.47% at medium volatility, Agent Jane Blonde Returns is 96.45% at low, Dragon Shard is 96.77% at medium, Break Away Deluxe is 96.88% at high and Lucky Wilds is 96.89% at very high. Max Volume is 96.00%, Immortal Romance II is 96.30%, Avalon III is 96.30%, Vein of Gold is 96.25% and Sarah’s Secret is 96.50%.
Several games also exist at lower RTP settings. Avalon III can appear at 94.3% or 92.3%, while Vein of Gold has 94% and 92% versions alongside the 96.25% edition. The information screen inside the loaded game is therefore more important than the highest figure used on a studio page or review.
Volatility spans the full range. Returns is low, Fortunium and Dragon Shard are medium, Immortal Romance II and Avalon III are high, and Lucky Wilds plus Vein of Gold sit at the very high end. A familiar character does not guarantee a familiar balance. Somebody comfortable with the original Agent Jane Blonde may find Max Volume or a jackpot edition much rougher.
Recent releases state maximum wins clearly as stake multiples, including 15,000x for Immortal Romance II, 5,000x for Avalon III, 5,500x for Vein of Gold and 5,000x for Sarah’s Secret. Some older Stormcraft pages show large raw numbers without stating the unit. Those figures should not be turned into x-bet claims unless the game rules make that relationship explicit.
Stormcraft Studios history and milestones
Stormcraft was founded in South Africa in 2016 by industry veterans. The team’s experience reaches back much further. Terence Igesund describes starting as the sole creative alongside three Durban technology colleagues during the early development of online casino software. That group helped establish Derivco, and Igesund went on to work on some of Microgaming’s most recognisable games and licensed productions.
The new studio’s first named period centred on Fortunium. Agent Jane Blonde Returns, Dragon Shard and Break Away Deluxe followed in 2019, demonstrating an early pattern: use veteran knowledge of an existing brand, then rebuild its presentation and feature rhythm for mobile play. Break Away Lucky Wilds and the later Max Volume release increased the complexity.
Microgaming sold the Quickfire distribution business and much of its games portfolio to Games Global in 2022. Stormcraft’s exclusive studio relationship continued within that new network. The distinction matters because modern press material may refer to Games Global, while older material names Microgaming. The studio team and franchises provide continuity across that corporate change.
Immortal Romance II in 2024 marked the most important recent milestone. The original had an unusually loyal following and any sequel invited direct comparison. In 2025 Stormcraft expanded the franchise with Vein of Gold and returned to Avalon with a third main game. Sarah’s Secret followed in January 2026, signalling a plan to explore individual Immortal Romance characters rather than produce only numbered sequels.
The image above shows Stormcraft’s official website and the studio’s presentation of its games. The same emphasis on worlds, characters and cinematic artwork runs through the company site and the games themselves.
Who owns and runs Stormcraft Studios?
Terence “Terry” Igesund is the founder and Executive Producer. Stormcraft’s own profile places him in Durban and says he leads a multi-disciplinary group of developers and creatives. His role is unusually relevant to the games because the studio presents itself around creative stewardship, not simply executive management.
Stormcraft describes an exclusive content relationship with Games Global but has not identified its shareholders, company number or ultimate owners. It is therefore best described as a founder-led exclusive studio, not as a Games Global subsidiary. A close distribution agreement does not, by itself, establish ownership.
The Games Global connection is nevertheless central. Its platform distributes the games, its media pages announce key releases and its privacy notice is linked from the Stormcraft footer. Games Global Operations Limited is also the licensed entity that provides the verified British route. For a player, Stormcraft is the creative name and Games Global is the platform and regulatory chain most likely to appear behind it.
Stormcraft licensing and Games Global distribution
Stormcraft does not appear in the UKGC register as a directly licensed trading name. Games Global Operations Limited does. Account 58841 lists active remote permissions for Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino), both current from 15 February 2022, with a head office at 62 Circular Road, Douglas, Isle of Man.
Games Global Operations Limited is the regulated company in the supply chain, while Stormcraft is the creative studio. A British player may therefore see the Stormcraft name on the game and Games Global in the platform or regulatory information.
The chain still has limits. It does not prove that an offshore casino carrying a Stormcraft logo is lawful for British customers. It does not prove that every game has completed every market-specific approval. It also does not make Stormcraft itself the licence holder. Readers should distinguish the developer, the licensed B2B host and the customer-facing casino.
Stormcraft games beyond this directory
The 18-title directory is a useful introduction, but it is not Stormcraft’s complete creative history. The studio’s official library also includes Thunderstruck Wild Lightning, Thunderstruck Stormchaser, Thunderstruck Gold Blitz Extreme, Fire Forge, Fortunium Gold, Wild Catch and additional Jungle Jim releases.
Some older games sit under Microgaming because the characters and brands existed before Stormcraft became a named studio. Jackpot editions may be grouped with Games Global or the network that operates the prize. For a fan, the official Stormcraft library is the better guide to the studio’s creative range, while the directory below provides a clean set of 18 currently attributed titles.
Stormcraft new and upcoming games
Stormcraft has been particularly busy with its established families. Jungle Jim Gold Blitz, Avalon III and Immortal Romance Vein of Gold were followed by Hot As Hades Power Combo, Immortal Romance 2 King Millions, Sarah’s Secret, Mermaids Millions Cashingo and Big Kahuna Epic Eruption Power Combo.
Agent Jane Blonde Mega Moolah is listed as upcoming. As with any announced casino game, the date at which it becomes playable can differ by operator and country. The Stormcraft game library is the most useful place to watch for a full product page and confirmed feature details.
The broader direction is clear even before the next announcement: Stormcraft is continuing to develop Immortal Romance, Jungle Jim, Thunderstruck, Avalon and Agent Jane Blonde rather than abandoning them for a stream of unrelated themes. That suits the studio’s strength in recurring characters, although every sequel still has to justify itself mechanically.
Which Stormcraft game should you try first?
| You want | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The studio’s first identity | Fortunium | A clear mystery-symbol game from the beginning of the Stormcraft brand |
| Simple, low-volatility play | Agent Jane Blonde Returns | One sticky-wild respin system and a 96.45% published RTP |
| Fantasy transformations | Dragon Shard | Mystery symbols, both-ways boosting and persistent free-spin reels |
| Sports cascades | Break Away Deluxe | Selectable lines, rolling wins and growing wilds without the later jackpot density |
| A risk choice | Break Away Lucky Wilds | Three free-spin modes and a much higher-volatility profile |
| A modern spy game | Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume | 243 ways, cascades, jackpots and a multiplier trail |
| The flagship sequel | Immortal Romance II | Four character modes, soundtrack progression and up to 15,000x |
| Arthurian fantasy | Avalon III | Magic Orb collection, fixed jackpots and a 5,000x maximum |
| Very high volatility | Immortal Romance Vein of Gold | Cash collection, rising jackpots and two bonus styles |
| A character-led spin-off | Sarah’s Secret | Five combinable Link&Win modifiers and new Immortal Romance music |
Fortunium is the best historical introduction, but Agent Jane Blonde Returns is the easiest game to understand. Immortal Romance II is the essential choice for seeing the studio at full scale. Fans of the original Immortal Romance should start there before moving to the sequel, because the returning characters and music make more sense with that context.
Our verdict on Stormcraft Studios
Stormcraft earns its score because it has a creative identity that goes beyond a logo on a reel set. Fortunium and Dragon Shard show disciplined mystery mechanics, Break Away and Agent Jane Blonde prove that older brands can support new maths, and Immortal Romance II treats a beloved game as a world worth continuing. The studio’s music and character work gives fans material to care about between releases.
The verified Games Global route into Britain is another strength. UK players can trace the B2B chain to an active Gambling Commission account and can find at least one current game at a licensed operator. Official game pages also publish more useful RTP and volatility data than many boutique studios.
The deductions come from repeated franchise recycling, unclear corporate ownership and inconsistent public specifications. Layout wording for Agent Jane Blonde Returns, the line-or-ways description for Lucky Wilds and the 2016-versus-2018 Fortunium dating all need editorial interpretation. Several new games also use familiar cash-collection and jackpot formats where the presentation is more distinctive than the underlying mechanic.
Stormcraft suits players who remember classic Microgaming characters, value original music and prefer a smaller studio with a recognisable creative voice. Look elsewhere when you want a huge flow of unrelated monthly releases, complete public corporate disclosure or purely minimalist slots without story and feature progression.
